~ Our history ~

Our oenologist, Pablo, who also has a large family, is responsible for the design and production of the wines and Fernando is our winemaker.
Between 1998 and 2003 the project that gave birth to Frontos was designed, the vineyards were restructured, recovering and replanting the best autochthonous varietals, new conduction and cultivation techniques were implemented and a new winery was built, with modern technology and means.
Tradition and modernity, respecting the varietal richness of the Canary Islands and its pre-phylloxera clones.

History

How it all began

In 1949, Mr. Manuel Luengo, born in Sanzoles del Vino (today D.O. TORO – Zamora), with several generations of winemakers in his family, settled in Granadilla de Abona where he worked as a Land Registrar for 40 years.
From his early years in the Abona region he acquired land, planted vineyards and began to make wine in the 1950s in a primitive bodega.
His ten children have continued the family tradition with a modern winemaking project, managed directly by the family. Fernando runs the day-to-day management of the winery with the direct support of Carlos. And they have the managerial and technical support of Hugo and Manuel.

The book is only in Spanish, sorry for the inconvenience.
